Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 19,
2003, the House Committee on Government Reform met in a formal
meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative
Swinford, at 5:20 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:

Absent: Representatives Gallego; Callegari; Smith, Todd (3).
A quorum was present.

The chair laid out SB 1701.
Representative Allen offered an amendment to the measure.
The amendment was adopted without objection.

Representative Casteel moved that SB 1701, as amended, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:

The chair laid out SB 314.
Representative Allen offered a complete committee substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Allen moved that SB 314, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:

Nays: None (0).

At 5:24 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
