The House Committee on General Investigating

         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 27, 2003 and revised on  
         March 28, 2003, the House Committee on General Investigating met  
         in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Bailey, at 8:07 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Bailey; Paxton; Flynn (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Dutton; Keel (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Representative Keel now present  at 8:27 a..m. 
          
         Chairman Bailey explained postponing the fact finding on the  
         Commission on Human Rights and Texas Health and Human Services  
         till later date. 
          
         Testimony was given on Special Districts by the Office of the  
         Attorney General and the Office of the Comptroller of Public  
         Accounts. Chairman Bailey advised the committee that we had  
         received the information requested from both the Houston Police  
         Chief and the Harris County District Attorney's offices. 
          At 8:57 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection, the  
    meeting was adjourned  subject to the call of the chair.
