         Pursuant to a notice posted on May 26, 2004, and revised on June  
         8, 2004, the House Committee on Financial Institutions met in a  
         public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Solomons, at 10:04 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Solomons; Flynn; Hopson; Wise (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Gutierrez; Christian; Paxton (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Testimony was taken on the subject of state commercial usury  
         laws.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 12:40 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
