         Upon final adjourn./recess

         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on September  
         15, 2003, the House Committee on Elections met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Denny, at 1:04 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Denny; Howard; Bohac; Harper-Brown  
                   (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Coleman; Deshotel; Uresti (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         HB 1 
          
         The chair laid out HB 1. 
          
         The chair explained HB 1. 
          
         Representative Deshotel now present. 
          
         Representative Denny offered a complete committee substitute.  
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Deshotel moved that HB 1, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Denny; Howard; Deshotel;  
                             Bohac; Harper-Brown (5).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).  
           
         Absent:        Representatives Coleman; Uresti  (2).  
         At 1:09 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
