Pursuant to a notice posted on April 24, 2003, the House
Committee on Economic Development met in a public hearing and
was called to order by the chair, Representative Keffer, Jim, at
8:14 a.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Keffer, Jim; Homer; Rodriguez; Wong
(4).
Absent: Representatives Isett; Hughes; Thompson (3).
A quorum was present.
SB 275
The chair laid out SB 275, companion to HB 1233 which was
previously voted favorably out of committee.
Representative Keffer, Jim offered a complete committee
substitute, and called on Represenative Solomons to explain the
substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Homer moved that SB 275, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Keffer, Jim; Homer;
Rodriguez; Thompson; Wong (5).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Isett; Hughes (2).
Though Representative Thompson was not present during the vote ,
upon her presence, she asked to be shown as voting aye on SB
275. Without objection, the chair agreed to let her be shown as
voting aye on SB 275.
SB 281
The chair laid out SB 281, companion to HB2171 which was
previously voted favorably out of committee.
The chair recognized Representative Solomons to explain the
measure.
The chair recognized Representative Solomons to close on the
measure.
Representative Wong moved that SB 281, without amendments, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Keffer, Jim; Homer;
Rodriguez; Thompson; Wong (5).
