         Pursuant to a notice posted on July 1, 2003, the House Committee  
         on County Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to  
         order by the chair, Representative Lewis, at 8:06 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   Flynn; Quintanilla (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Casteel; Farrar; Olivo (3). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         The chair laid out HB 6. 
          
         The chair recognized Representative Farabee to explain the  
         measure.  
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         The chair recognized Representative Farabee to close on the  
         measure.  
          
         The bill was left pending without objection.  
          
         At 8:21 a.m., on the motion of the chair the meeting was  
         adjourned and without objection.
