Pursuant to a notice posted on May 1, 2003, the House Committee
on Corrections met in a public hearing and was called to order
by the chair, Representative Allen, at 8:31 a.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Allen; Hopson; Stick; Haggerty (4).
Absent: Representatives Alonzo; Farrar; Mabry (3).
A quorum was present.

SB 591
The chair laid out SB 591.
Representative Hopson offered a complete committee substitute.
The chair recognized himself to explain the measure.
Testimony was taken. (See attached witness list.)

The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Haggerty moved that SB 591, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Allen; Hopson; Stick;
Alonzo; Haggerty; Mabry (6).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representative Farrar (1).
At 8:45 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
