Pursuant to permission granted to meet while the house was in
session and an announcement from the house floor on May 23,
2003, the House Committee on Business & Industry met in a formal
meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative
Giddings, at 6:49 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:

Absent: Representatives Bohac; Martinez Fischer (2).

The chair laid out SCR 48.

Representative Elkins moved that SCR 48, without amendments, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:

Bohac; Martinez Fischer; Moreno, Joe E.;
Oliveira; Solomons; Zedler (9).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).

The chair laid out SB 1804.
Representative Solomons offered a complete committee substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Oliveira moved that SB 1804, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
