Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 2, 2003,
the House Committee on Business & Industry met in a formal
meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative
Giddings, at 8:55 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Giddings; Elkins; Bohac; Moreno, Joe
E.; Solomons; Zedler (6).
Absent: Representatives Kolkhorst; Martinez Fischer; Oliveira
(3).
A quorum was present.

The chair laid out SB 611.
(Representative Kolkhorst now present.)
Representative Elkins offered an amendment to the measure.
The amendment was adopted without objection.
Representative Elkins moved that SB 611, as amended, be reported
favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do
pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and
Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following record
vote:
Ayes: Representatives Giddings; Elkins; Kolkhorst;
Bohac; Moreno, Joe E.; Solomons; Zedler (7).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Martinez Fischer; Oliveira (2).
At 8:59 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
