         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 24, 2003, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Article IX met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Hope, at 4:15 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Hope; Jones, Elizabeth; Raymond; Solis  
                   (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Brown, Betty; Hamric; Turner (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The subcommittee met to discuss issues relating to Article IX  
         Provisions for 2004-2005. 
          
         (Representative Hamric now present.)(Representative Brown, Betty  
         now present.) 
          
         (Representative Jones, Elizabeth in chair.) 
          
         (Representative Hope in chair.) 
          
         At 5:21 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 5:30 p.m., March 24, 2003. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 5:35 p.m. and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative Hope. The roll was answered as  
         follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Hope; Brown, Betty; Hamric; Raymond;  
                   Solis (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Jones, Elizabeth; Turner (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The subcommittee continued to discuss issues relating to Article  
         IX Provisions for 2004-2005. 
          
         At 6:00 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned.
