         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 20,  
         2003, the House Committee on Agriculture & Livestock met in a  
         formal meeting and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Hardcastle, at 2:32 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   Delwin; Laney; Swinford (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Miller; Burnam (2). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         The chair laid out SB1828 as pending business.  
          
         (Representative Miller now present.) 
          
         (Representative Burnam now present.) 
          
         Representative Hardcastle offered a complete committee  
         substitute.  
          
         Representative Laney offered an amendment to the measure.  
          
         Committee amendment #1 was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Laney offered an amendment to the measure.  
          
         Committee amendment #2 was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Laney offered an amendment to the measure.  
          
         Committee amendment #3 was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Laney offered an amendment to the measure.  
          
         Committee amendment #4 was adopted without objection. 
          
         The committee substitute, as amended, was adopted without  
         objection. 
          
         Representative Betty Brown moved that SB1828, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:

                             Betty; Swinford (4).  
           
         Nays:               Representatives Burnam; Jones, Delwin; Laney  
                             (3).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     None  (0).

         The chair directed the staff to incorporate the amendments into  
         a committee substitute. 
          
         At 2:50 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
