         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 5, 2003,  
         the House Committee on Agriculture & Livestock met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Hardcastle, at 12:43  p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Hardcastle; Miller; Brown, Betty;  
                   Burnam; Swinford (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Jones, Delwin; Laney (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB644 
          
         The chair laid out SB644, senate companion to HB1452 by  
         Representative Hilderbran, previously heard in the Agriculture  
         and Livestock Committee. 
          
         Representative Swinford moved that SB644, without amendments, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Hardcastle; Miller; Brown,  
                             Betty; Swinford (4).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     Representative Burnam  (1).  
           
         Absent:        Representatives Jones, Delwin; Laney  (2).  
           
         SB759 
          
         The chair laid out SB759 left as pending business before the  
         committee from a previous public hearing. 
          
         Representative Burnam offered a complete committee substitute.  
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Burnam moved that SB759, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote:  
          
         Ayes:               Representatives Hardcastle; Miller; Brown,  
                             Betty; Swinford (4).  
           
         Nays:               None (0).  
           
         Present, Not Voting:     Representative Burnam  (1).
