Pursuant to suspension of Senate Rules 11.10 and 11.18,
a public hearing of the Senate Committee on
Redistricting was held on Thursday, May 10, 2001, at
Desk 25 in the Senate Chamber at Austin, Texas.

The chair called the meeting to order at 2:25 p.m.
There being a quorum present, the following business
was transacted:
At 2:25 p.m. Senator Jackson assumed the chair and laid
out House Bill 150.
Senator Wentworth, the Senate sponsor of House Bill
150, explained the bill. Senator Jackson asked if
anyone present would like to testify for or against the
bill. No one wished to testify. Public testimony was
closed. Senator Wentworth moved House Bill 150 be
passed, printed, and reported favorably to the Senate.
The motion carried with a record vote of 8 ayes, 0 nay,
0 present not voting, and 0 absent.
Senator Wentworth resumed the chair at 2:28 p.m.
There being no further business, at 2:28 p.m., the
chair announced the committee would stand recessed
subject to the call of the chair.
