         Pursuant to a notice posted on May 2, 2001, and a suspension of  
         the five-day posting rule on May 3, 2001, to enable the  
         Committee to take up and consider HB 2141, the House Committee  
         on Land & Resource Management met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Walker, at 8:07  
         The roll was answered as follows: 
         Present:  Representatives Walker; Brown, Fred; Howard; Krusee;  
                   Mowery; Truitt (6). 
         Absent:   Representatives Crabb; Geren; Turner, Bob (3). 
         A quorum was present.

         The chair laid out SB 1398. 
         The chair recognized Representative Walker to explain the  
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
         (Representative Geren now present.) 
         (Representative Crabb now present.) 
         (Representative Turner, Bob now present.) 
         The bill was left pending without objection.  
         At 9:56 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 8:00 a.m., May 8, 2001, in room
