         Pursuant to a notice posted on August 21, 2002, the House  
         Committee on Juvenile Justice & Family Issues met in a public  
         hearing and was called to order by the chair, Representative  
         Goodman, at 10:25 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   Menendez; Morrison; Naishtat; Reyna, Elvira; Tillery  
                   (8). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Nixon, Joe (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The Chair called for invited testimony. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 12:07 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
