Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 1, 2001,
the House Committee on Judicial Affairs met in a formal meeting
and was called to order by the chair, Representative Thompson,
at 4:25 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Thompson; Hartnett; Solis, Jim;
Talton; Uresti (5).
Absent: Representatives Capelo; Deshotel; Garcia; Hinojosa
(4).
A quorum was present.
The chair directed that the April 9, 2001, minutes for the House
Committee on Judicial Affairs be corrected. The corrected
minutes were authorized without objection.
HB 3203
The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which the measure was
reported from committee. The motion to reconsider prevailed
without objection.
Th chair laid out HB 3203 and explained.
Representative Solis, Jim offered a complete committee
substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Solis, Jim moved that HB 3203, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Thompson; Hartnett; Solis,
Jim; Talton; Uresti (5).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Capelo; Deshotel; Garcia;
Hinojosa (4).
HB 3666
The chair laid out HB 3666 and explained.
Representative Hartnett moved that HB 3666, without amendments,
be reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Thompson; Hartnett; Solis,
Jim; Talton; Uresti (5).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).

SB 1113
The chair laid out SB 1113, the companion to HB 2633, and
explained.

Representative Solis, Jim moved that SB 1113, without
amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the
recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the
Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed
by the following record vote:

Deshotel; Solis, Jim; Talton; Uresti (6).
Nays: None (0).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).

At 4:28 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
