         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 8, 2001, the House  
         Committee on State, Federal & International Relations met in a  
         public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Hunter, at 8:09 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Hunter; Chavez; Elkins; Madden;  
                   Raymond (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Moreno, Paul; Berman; Miller; Najera  
                   (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Testimony was taken on the subject of the Texas Adjutant  
         General's Department, and the Texas National Guard.  (See  
         attached witness list.) 
          
         (Representative Miller now present.) 
          
         (Representative Najera now present.) 
          
         (Representative Berman now present.) 
          
         At 9:00 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
