Pursuant to a suspension of the 5-day posting rule on May 7 and
May 8, 2001, the House Committee on Higher Education met in a
public hearing and was called to order by the chair,
Representative Rangel, at 10:00 p.m.
The roll was answered as follows:

Absent: Representatives Farabee; Morrison; Reyna, Elvira; Uher

The chair recognized Representative Rangel to explain the
measure.
The chair recognized Representative Rangel to close on the
measure.
Representative West, George "Buddy" moved that SB 1814, without
amendments, be reported favorably to the full house with the
recommendation that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the
Committee on Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed
by the following record vote:
