         Pursuant to a notice posted on January 30, 2001, the House  
         Committee on County Affairs met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Ramsay, at 8:10  
         a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Ramsay; Lewis, Glenn; Brown, Betty;  
                   Farabee; Salinas; Shields (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Chisum; Hilderbran; Krusee (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The Chair made introductory remarks. 
          
         (Representative Chisum now present.) 
          
         Invited testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 9:10 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned until 8:00 a.m., February 14, 2001.
