         Pursuant to a notice posted on May 16, 2000, the House Committee  
         on Urban Affairs met in a public hearing and was called to order  
         by the chair, Representative Carter, at 10:20 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Carter; Burnam; Ehrhardt; Hodge (4). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Bailey; Clark; Edwards; Hill; Najera  
                   (5). 
          
         Testimony was taken on the subject of volunteer fire fighters.

         At 3:40 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
