         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 10, 2000, the House  
         Committee on State Affairs, Subcommittee on Cable & Broadband,  
         met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Wolens, at 10:16 a.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Wolens; Alvarado; Brimer; Counts;  
                   Longoria; Marchant; Merritt (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Bailey; Danburg; Hunter; Jones,  
                   Delwin; McCall; Turner, Sylvester (6). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         (Representative Jones, Delwin now present.) 
          
         Testimony was taken on the subject of the state's regulatory  
         authority over cable and broadband technologies.  (See attached  
         witness list.) 
          
         At 12:55 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
