         Pursuant to a notice posted on September 5, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Public Education, Subcommittee on Agency Oversight  
         and Grant Programs, met in a public hearing and was called to  
         order by the chair, Representative Hochberg, at 1:10 p.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Hochberg; Dunnam (2). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Grusendorf (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The House Public Education Committee, Subcommittee on Agency  
         Oversight and Grant Programs, met in a public hearing to discuss  
         issues relating to special education and textbooks. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 4:05 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
