         Pursuant to a notice posted on July 19, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Public Education, Subcommittee on Charter Schools,  
         met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Dunnam, at 10:10 a.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Dunnam; Olivo (2). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Smith (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The Public Education Committee, Subcommittee on Charter Schools,  
         met in a public hearing to discuss issues regarding charter  
         schools. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 3:45 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed subject to the call of the chair.
