         Pursuant to a notice posted on July 11, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Public Education, Subcommittee on Agency and Grant  
         Program Oversight, met in a public hearing and was called to  
         order by the chair, Representative Hochberg, at 10:20 a.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Hochberg; Dunnam (2). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Grusendorf (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The House Committee on Public Education, Subcommittee on Agency  
         and Program Oversight met to discuss issues regarding textbooks,  
         special education and the State Board for Educator  
         Certification. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 5:20 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed subject to the call of the chair.
