         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 28, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Public Education, Subcommittee on Charter Schools,  
         met in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Dunnam, at 10:15 a.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Dunnam; Olivo; Smith (3). 
          
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The subcommittee met to hear an overview of charter schools. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 4:15 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
