         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 27, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Public Education, Subcommittee on SB 4 Grant  
         Programs, met in a public hearing and was called to order by the  
         chair, Representative Hochberg, at 5:00 p.m. 
          
         Present:  Representatives Hochberg; Dunnam; Grusendorf (3). 
          
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The subcommittee met to hear an overview on  
         prekindergarten/kindergarten and 9th grade grant programs  
         established in SB 4, 76th Legislature. 
          
         The subcommittee also heard an overview of textbook  
         distribution. 
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 5:00 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
