         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 23, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Public Education met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Sadler, at 2:05  
         p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Sadler; Dunnam; Grusendorf; Hochberg;  
                   Lengefeld; Olivo; Smith (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Dutton; Oliveira (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The committee met to hear invited testimony. 
          
         At 3:20 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
