Pursuant to a notice posted on July 6, 2000, the House Interim
Committee on Judicial Affairs met in a public hearing and was
called to order by the chair, Representative Thompson, at 10:38
a.m.
The roll was answered as follows:

OVERSIGHT: JUDICIARY
Representative Capelo moved that the committee subpoena Gary
Polland, Harris County GOP Chair to appear at the next Judicial
Affairs Interim hearing. The motion prevailed by the following
record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Thompson; Capelo; Deshotel;
Garcia; Solis, Jim; Uresti (6).
Nays: Representative Hartnett (1).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Hinojosa; Shields (2).
Representative Capelo moved that the committee subpoena Janet
Brannen, Trinity County County GOP Chair to appear at the next
Judicial Affairs Interim hearing. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
Ayes: Representatives Thompson; Capelo; Deshotel;
Garcia; Solis, Jim; Uresti (6).
Nays: Representative Hartnett (1).
Present, Not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Hinojosa; Shields (2).

Stadelmann, Washington County GOP Chair, to appear at the next
Judicial Affairs Interim hearing. The motion prevailed by the

Nays: Representative Hartnett (1).

Simpson, Harris County GOP Treasurer to appear at the next
Judicial Affairs Interim hearing. The motion prevailed by the
following record vote:
