Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 20,
1999, the House Committee on Judicial Affairs met in a formal
meeting and was called to order by the Chair, Representative
Senfronia Thompson at 4:18 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:

Deshotel; Hinojosa; Shields; Solis, Jim; Uresti (8).
Absent: Representative Garcia (1).
A quorum was present.

The chair laid out HB 3120 and explained.
Rep. Solis offered a complete committee substitute. The chair
laid out CSHB 3120 and explained.

There being objection, Rep. Solis withdrew the substitute.
The chair moved to leave HB 3120 pending. There being no
objection, HB 3120 was left pending.

The chair laid out HB 3176 and explained.
Representative Capelo moved that HB 3176 be reported favorably
to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and
be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent
Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following vote:

committee stand adjourned. There being no objection, the
Committee on Judicial Affairs adjourned at 4:27 p.m.
