Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 11,
1999, the House Committee on Insurance met in a formal meeting
and was called to order by the Chair, Representative John
Smithee at 9:53 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:

A quorum was present.
SB 956
The chair laid out SB 956, the companion to HB 2790.
Representative Eiland offered a complete committee substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.

Representative Seaman moved that SB 956, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the
following vote:

The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which SB 1030 was
reported and recommended to be sent to the Local and Consent
Calendars committee on May 6, 1999. This was done due to
lack of a certified copy at the initial meeting in order to
repeat the action that the committee took in that meeting.
The motion to reconsider prevailed without objection.
Representative Olivo moved that SB 1030 be reported favorably
to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and
be printed. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Burnam; Lewis, Glenn; Moreno,
Joe; Olivo; Thompson (5).
Nays: Representative Seaman (1).
Present not Voting: Representatives Smithee; Eiland (2).
Absent: Representative Wise (1).
