         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 21,  
         1999, the House Committee on Human Services met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the Chair, Representative  
         Elliott Naishtat at 7:36 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Naishtat; Chavez; Christian; Davis,  
                   John; Telford; 
                    Wohlgemuth (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Maxey; Noriega; Truitt (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 369 
          
         The chair laid out SB 369.   
          
         Representative Naishtat offered a complete committee  
         substitute.   
          
         (Representative Maxey now present.)   
          
         (Representative Noriega now present.)   
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Davis, John moved that SB 369, as substituted,  
         be reported favorably to the full house with the  
         recommendation that it do pass and be printed.  The motion  
         prevailed by the following vote:   
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Naishtat; Maxey; Christian;  
                        Davis, John; Telford;  Wohlgemuth (6). 
          
         Nays:          Representatives Chavez; Noriega (2). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0). 
          
         Absent:        Representative Truitt (1). 
          
         At 7:40 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
