         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 28,  
         1999, the House Committee on Human Services met in a formal  
         meeting and was called to order by the Chair, Representative  
         Elliott Naishtat at 3:43 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Naishtat; Maxey; Chavez; Davis,  
                   John; Noriega; Wohlgemuth (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Christian; Telford; Truitt (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The chair directed that the April 22, 1999 minutes for the  
         House Committee on Human Services be corrected.  The corrected  
         minutes were authorized without objection. 
          
         At 3:46 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
