         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 13,1999 and a suspension  
         of the 5-day posting rule on April 13, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Elections, Subcommittee on Primary Election Dates  
         met in a public hearing and was called to order by the Chair,  
         Representative Greenberg at 2:35 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representative Greenberg (1). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Averitt; Hodge (2). 
          
         A quorum was not present.

         The chair laid out HB 61.   
          
         (Representative Averitt now present.)   
          
         (Representative Hodge now present.)   
          
         Representative Greenberg offered a complete committee  
         substitute.   
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         The committee substitute was withdrawn. 
          
         At 3:25 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
