         Pursuant to a notice posted on April 1, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Elections, Subcommittee on VOTER REGISTRATION met  
         in a public hearing and was called to order by the Chair,  
         Representative Madden at 4:07 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Madden; Jones, Jesse; Hodge (3). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Uher (1). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         HB 1566 
          
         The chair laid out HB 1566.   
          
         The chair recognized Representative Maxey to explain the  
         measure.   
          
         Representative Hodge offered a complete committee substitute.   
          
         Testimony was taken.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         The chair recognized Representative Maxey to close on the  
         measure.   
          
         The committee substitute was withdrawn. 
          
         The bill was left pending without objection.  
          
         HB 1699 
          
         The chair laid out HB 1699.   
          
         Representative Hodge offered a complete committee substitute. 
          
         The chair recognized Representative Hodge to explain the  
         measure.

         measure.   
          
         The committee substitute was withdrawn. 
  
         The bill was left pending without objection.
