         Pursuant to a notice posted on May 22, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Economic Development met in a formal meeting and  
         was called to order by the Chair, Representative Jim Solis at  
         8:29 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

         Absent:   Representatives Luna, Vilma; Seaman (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 394 
          
         The chair laid out SB 394.   
          
         Representative Van de Putte moved that SB 394 be reported  
         favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do  
         pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and  
         Consent Calendars.  The motion prevailed by the following  
         vote:   
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Solis, Jim; Van de Putte;  
                        Deshotel; Homer; Keffer; McClendon; Yarbrough  
                        (7). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0). 
          
         Absent:        Representatives Luna, Vilma; Seaman (2). 
          
         SB 1151 
          
         The chair laid out SB 1151.   
          
         Representative Yarbrough moved that SB 1151 be reported  
         favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do  
         pass and be printed.  The motion failed by the following vote:   
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Solis, Jim; Van de Putte;  
                        Deshotel; McClendon (4). 
          
         Nays:          Representatives Homer; Keffer; Yarbrough (3). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0). 
          
         Absent:        Representatives Luna, Vilma; Seaman (2). 
          
         At 8:41 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
