         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April  29,  
         1999, the House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence met in a  
         formal meeting and was called to order by the Chair,  
         Representative Juan Hinojosa at 11:55 a.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:

                   Talton (5). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Green; Keel; Nixon, Joe; Wise (4). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         SB 1558 
          
         The chair laid out SB 1558.   
          
         Representative Smith moved that SB 1558 be reported favorably  
         to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and  
         be printed.  The motion prevailed by the following vote:   
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Hinojosa; Dunnam; Garcia;  
                        Smith; Talton (5). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0).

         HB 1516 
          
         The chair laid out HB 1516.   
          
         Representative Talton offered a complete committee substitute.   
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Talton moved that HB 1516, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the  
         following vote:

         The chair moved to reconsider the vote by which HB 3489 was  
         reported  from committee  The motion to reconsider prevailed  
         without objection. Representative Dunnam offered a complete  
         committee substitute.   
          
         The committee substitute was adopted without objection. 
          
         Representative Dunnam moved that HB 3489, as substituted, be  
         reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation  
         that it do pass and be printed.  The motion prevailed by the  
         following vote:

         The chair directed that the April 21, 1999 minutes for the  
         House Committee on Criminal Jurisprudence be corrected.  The  
         corrected minutes were authorized without objection. 
          
         At 12:05 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without  
         objection, the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of  
  
         the chair.
