Pursuant to a notice posted on May 14, 1999, the House
Committee on County Affairs met in a public hearing and was
called to order by the Chair, Representative Tom Ramsay at
8:10 am.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Ramsay; Brown, Betty; Farabee;
Krusee; Swinford (5).
Absent: Representatives Lewis, Glenn; Chisum; Hilderbran;
Salinas (4).
A quorum was present.
SB1870
The chair laid out SB1870.

The chair recognized Representative Krusee to explain the
measure.
Representative Farabee moved that SB1870 be reported favorably
to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and
be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent
Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Ramsay; Lewis, Glenn; Brown,
Betty; Farabee; Krusee; Swinford (6).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Chisum; Hilderbran; Salinas
(3).

The chair recognized Representative Pickett to explain the
measure.
Representative Ramsay offered a complete committee substitute.

measure.
The chair recognized Representative Paul Moreno to explain the
measure.
The chair recognized Representative Pickett to close on the
measure.
Representative Salinas offered an amendment to the measure.
The committee substitute and committee amendment were
withdrawn without objection.
The bill was left pending without objection.

The chair laid out and explained SB995.
Representative Ramsay offered a complete committee substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Krusee moved that SB995, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Ramsay; Lewis, Glenn; Farabee;
Krusee; Salinas (5).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Brown, Betty; Chisum;
Hilderbran; Swinford (4).
At 9:20 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
