Pursuant to a suspension of the 5-day posting rule on May 12,
1999, the House Committee on Corrections met in a public
hearing and was called to order by the Chair, Representative
Pat Haggerty at 7:45 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Haggerty; Staples; Allen; Culberson;
Ellis, Dan; Gray; Lengefeld (7).
Absent: Farrar; Longoria (2)
A quorum was present

The chair laid out SB 29.
The chair recognized Representative Staples to explain the
measure.
Testimony was taken. (See attached witness list.)
Representative Culberson offered an amendment to the measure.
The amendment was withdrawn without objection.
The chair recognized Representative Staples to close on the
measure.
The bill was left pending without objection.
SB 1650
The chair laid out SB 1650.
The chair recognized Representative Haggerty to explain the
measure.
Testimony was taken. (See attached witness list.)
Representative Allen moved that SB 1650 be reported favorably
to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and
be printed. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Haggerty; Staples; Allen;
Culberson; Ellis, Dan; Gray; Lengefeld (7).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Farrar; Longoria (2).
At 9:15 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
