Pursuant to a notice posted on April 14, 1999, the House
Committee on Constitutional Revision, Select met in a public
hearing and was called to order by the Chair, Representative
Joe Driver at 5:30 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Driver; Allen; Bailey; Lewis, Glenn;
Mowery; Tillery (6).
Absent: Representatives Puente; Dutton; Solomons (3).
A quorum was present.
HJR 62
The chair laid out HJR 62 as pending business.
Representative Mowery offered a committee substitute.
Testimony was taken. (See attached witness list.)
(Representative Solomons now present.)
(Representative Puente now present.)
Representative Mowery offered an amendment to the committee
substitute.
The amendment was adopted without objection.
The chair directed the staff to incorporate the amendment into
the complete committee substitute.
The Chair moved that the committee substitute be adopted.
There being no objection, the committee substitute was
adopted.
Chairman Driver moved that HJR 62, as substituted, be reported
favorably to the full house with the recommendation that it do
pass and be printed. The motion prevailed by the following
vote:
Ayes: Representatives Driver; Puente; Allen; Bailey;
Lewis, Glenn; Mowery; Solomons; Tillery (8).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representative Dutton (1).
The Chair explained that testimony will be heard on the
subject matter of Executive Powers.
Testimony was taken. (See attached witness list.)
At 6:55 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
