The House Committee on Redistricting 
         76th Legislature 
         February 9, 2000

         Abilene Civic Center, 100 North 6th Street Abilene, Texas 
          
         Pursuant to a notice posted on January 31, 2000, the House  
         Committee on Redistricting met in a public hearing and was  
         called to order by the chair, Representative Jones, Delwin, at  
         2:00 p.m. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows: 
          
         Present:  Representatives Jones, Delwin; Glaze; Bosse; Counts;  
                   Dunnam; Hunter; Moreno, Paul; Pitts (8). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Grusendorf; Marchant; Wilson (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         Testimony was taken from residents and public officials of the  
         Abilene area.  (See attached witness list.) 
          
         At 4:50 p.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned until 1:30 p.m., February 16, 2000.
