         Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on April 6,  
         1999, the House Committee on Calendars met in a formal meeting  
         and was called to order by the Chair, Representative Barry  
         Telford at 11:35 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Telford; Hilbert; Brimer; Cuellar;  
                   McCall; Sadler; Thompson; Turner, Sylvester (8). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Danburg; Dutton; Siebert (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The Chair recognized Rep. Hilbert who moved to adopt the  
         proposed rule for floor consideration on HB 1.  The motion was  
         seconded by Rep. Turner.  The motion prevailed by the  
         following record vote: 
          
         Ayes:          Representatives Telford; Hilbert; Brimer;  
                        Cuellar; McCall; Sadler; Thompson; Turner,  
                        Sylvester (8). 
          
         Nays:          None (0). 
          
         Present not Voting:      None (0). 
          
         Absent:        Representatives Danburg; Dutton; Siebert (3). 
          
         At 11:38 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
