Pursuant to an announcement from the house floor on May 19,
1999, the House Committee on Business & Industry met in a
formal meeting and was called to order by the Chair,
Representative Kim Brimer at 12:35 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Representatives Brimer; Dukes; George; Siebert;
Solomons; Woolley (6).
Absent: Representatives Corte; Giddings; Ritter (3).
A quorum was present.
SB 545
The chair laid out SB 545.
The chair explained the measure.
Representative Brimer moved that SB 545 be reported favorably
to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and
be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent
Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Brimer; Dukes; George; Siebert;
Solomons; Woolley (6).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Corte; Giddings; Ritter (3).
SB 1274
The chair laid out SB 1274.
The chair explained the measure.
Representative Brimer moved that SB 1274 be reported favorably
to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and
be printed and be sent to the Committee on Local and Consent
Calendars. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Brimer; Dukes; George; Siebert;
Solomons (5).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Representatives Corte; Giddings; Ritter;
Woolley (4).
The chair directed that the April 20, 1999 minutes for the
House Committee on Business & Industry be corrected. The
corrected minutes were authorized without objection.
At 12:40 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
