Pursuant to a notice posted on May 3, 1999 and an announcement
from the floor, the House Committee on Business & Industry met
in a formal meeting upon recess at Desk Three and was called
to order by the Chair, Representative Kim Brimer at 3:50 pm.
The roll was answered as follows:
Present: Brimer, Corte, George, Giddings, Ritter, Solomons,
Woolley (7).
Absent: Dukes, Siebert (2).
A quorum was present.
SB 384
The chair laid out SB 384 as pending business.
Representative Brimer offered a complete committee substitute.
The committee substitute was adopted without objection.
Representative Brimer moved that SB 384, as substituted, be
reported favorably to the full house with the recommendation
that it do pass and be printed and be sent to the Committee on
Local and Consent Calendars. The motion prevailed by the
following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Brimer; Corte; George;
Giddings; Ritter; Solomons; Woolley (7).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Dukes, Siebert (2).
SB 1058
The chair laid out SB 1058, the senate companion to HB 2606.
Representative Brimer moved that SB 1058 be reported favorably
to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and
be printed. The motion prevailed by the following vote:

Giddings; Ritter; Solomons; Woolley (7).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).
Absent: Dukes, Siebert (2).
SB 434
The chair recalled SB 434 from subcommittee.
The chair recognized Representative Solomons to explain the
measure.
Representative Brimer moved that SB 434 be reported favorably
to the full house with the recommendation that it do pass and
be printed. The motion prevailed by the following vote:
Ayes: Representatives Brimer; Corte; George;
Giddings; Ritter; Solomons; Woolley (7).
Nays: None (0).
Present not Voting: None (0).

The chair directed that the April 20, 1999 minutes for the
House Committee on Business & Industry be corrected. The
corrected minutes were authorized without objection.
The chair directed that the April 21, 1999 minutes for the
House Committee on Business & Industry be corrected. The
corrected minutes were authorized without objection.
At 4:00 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,
the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
