         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 11, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Article IX met in a work  
         session and was called to order by the Chair,  
         Representative Scott Hochberg at 12:00 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Hochberg; Cuellar; Delisi; Glaze;  
                   Heflin; Pitts; West, George "Buddy" (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Eiland; Turner, Sylvester (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The committee heard testimony from the Legislative Budget  
         Board regarding Article IX. 
          
         (Representative Eiland now present.)   
          
         At 12:50 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned until Thursday, February 18, 1999.
