         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 12, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Article IX met in a work  
         session and was called to order by the Chair, Representative  
         Scott Hochberg at 1:05 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Hochberg; Eiland; Glaze; Heflin;  
                   Pitts; Turner, Sylvester; West, George "Buddy" (7). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Cuellar; Delisi (2). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The committee heard testimony from the Legislative Budget  
         Board regarding Article IX.

         At 2:12 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned until Tuesday, March 16, 1999 at
