         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 3, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Article IX met in a public  
         hearing and was called to order by the Chair, Representative  
         Scott Hochberg at 1:40 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Hochberg; Cuellar; Eiland; Glaze;  
                   Heflin; Pitts (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Delisi; Turner, Sylvester; West,  
                   George "Buddy" (3). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         At 2:30 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
