         Pursuant to a notice posted on March 3, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Article IX met in a public  
         hearing and was called to order by the Chair, Representative  
         Scott Hochberg at 1:15 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Hochberg; Cuellar; Delisi; Eiland;  
                   Glaze; Heflin; Turner, Sylvester; West, George  
                   "Buddy" (8). 
          
         Absent:   Representative Pitts (1). 
          
         A quorum was present.

         At 2:15 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned until Wednesday, March 10, 1999
