         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 23, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Article IX met in a work  
         session and was called to order by the Chair, Representative  
         Scott Hochberg at 12:20 pm. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Hochberg; Delisi; Glaze; Heflin;  
                   Pitts; West, George "Buddy" (6). 
          
         Absent:   Representatives Cuellar; Eiland; Turner, Sylvester  
                   (3). 
          
         A quorum was present. 
          
         The committee discussed budget issues. 
          
         At 1:20 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned until Tuesday, March 2, 1999.
