         Pursuant to a notice posted on February 17, 1999, the House  
         Committee on Appropriations-S/C on Criminal Justice met in a  
         work session and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative  
         Sylvester Turner at 8:43 am. 
          
         The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Turner, Sylvester; Farrar; Gallego;  
                   Staples; Van de Putte (5). 
          
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present. The Subcommittee discussed pending  
         budget items. 
          
         At 9:50 am, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until  
         1:00 pm. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 1:05 pm and was called to order by  
         the chair, Representative  
         Sylvester Turner.  The roll was answered as follows:   
          
         Present:  Representatives Turner, Sylvester; Farrar; Gallego;  
                   Staples; Van de Putte (5). 
          
         Absent:   None (0). 
          
         A quorum was present. The Subcommittee discussed pending  
         budget items. 
          
         At 5:30 pm, on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was adjourned subject to the call of the chair.
