         in a public hearing and was called to order by the chair,  
         Representative Glaze, at 9:07 a.m.

         A quorum was present.

         At 10:24 a.m., on the motion of the chair and without objection,  
         the meeting was recessed until 12:00 p.m., May 2, 2000. 
          
         The committee reconvened at 12:18 p.m. and was called to order  
         by the chair, Representative Glaze. The roll was answered as  
         follows:

         A quorum was present.
